The Bolivia national football team played a total number of twelve international matches in the 2001 season under the guidance of manager Carlos Aragonés, including three at the 2001 Copa América in Colombia. The squad didn't qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea, ending up in seventh place in the final rankings of the CONMEBOL-zone.
